Magnitude 5.4 Earthquake Hits Taiwan, No Casualties Reported

Taiwan Struck By A Magnitude 5.4 Earthquake

On Friday (November 25, 2016), U.S Geological Survey said that a magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Taiwan but no casualties were reported yet.

The earthquake centered 81 kilometers east of the city of Hualian at a depth of 10 kilometers. USGS said that the quake hits Taiwan at 9:55 pm (GMT Thursday) or 5:55 am on Friday (PH-Time). The magnitude 5.4 quake came after the magnitude 6.4 earthquake in February.

In Yilan Country, an intensity level of 3 shook the area while intensity level 2 rattled Taipei City, Central Taipei City, Hualien Country, New Taipei City, and Central New Taipei City. There were no casualties reported yet on the magnitude 5.4 earthquake in Taiwan.

Central Weather Bureau (CWB) recorded the magnitude 5.5 earthquake by using their Richter scale at 5;55 to 56:6 am making it one-hundredth of a second and one millisecond from being 5:55:55:5.
