Mid-Year Bonus of Gov’t Workers Released
Pursuant to by Executive Order No. 201, Series of 2016, the mid-year bonus of the Gov’t workers was released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Sunday.
Based on the number of filled positions in the Government Manpower Information System as of April 30, 2016, the funding requirement for the mid-year bonus amounting to P31 billion has been released to the various agencies the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) and the corresponding Notice of Cash Allocation.
The mid-year bonus released is equivalent to the one-month basic salary as of May 15 to be granted to all positions for civilians employed in the government, including the military, police officers and other uniformed and non-uniformed personnel. The said executive Order No. 201 was approved by the outgoing president Aquino last February 19 of the same year.
The mandate under Budget Circular 2016-3 has stated that the bonus shall be given to the government employees not earlier than may 15. The sect is also responsible for providing the rules and regulations for the said grant.
An employee must be entitled to the grant when it has rendered at least 4 months in the service from July 1, 2015, to May 15, 2016. Also, the employee must have at least obtain a satisfactory rating in the immediately preceding period and should be currently in the service as of May 15. Those personnel that rendered less than four months in the service and those no longer in the service on the said shall not be entitled to the bonus.
