Mocha Slams Bam Aquino’s Statement That Ninoy Is A "National Hero”

Mocha Uson slams the statement of Senator Bam Aquino that Ninoy Aquino is a “national hero” during the Senate hearing regarding fake news

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson slammed Senator Bam Aquino’s statement in a recent Senate hearing on the issue regarding fake news.

The lawmaker from a prominent political clan mentioned that his uncle, the late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino, is a national hero.

This is what exactly he stated during that said senate hearing, based on the article recently published in Pinoy Trending.

“Si Usec. Badoy criticizes me for being a cosplayer of my uncle. I don’t mind to be honest because my uncle is a national hero so mabuti nga na idolo ko siya.”

There were several people who reacted against the statement of the Senator. One of them is Maharlika who said that what Bam Aquino stated was a fake news.

According to the Facebook Page of Maharlika, the lawmaker is spreading a fake news right when the Senate is having a hearing regarding fake news.

In line with the statement of Aquino, PCOO Asec. Mocha Uson also expressed her thoughts about it.

Based on the post of the appointed government official, she is not questioning the right of the Senator to say that he idolizes his uncle and that he considers him as a national hero.

On the other hand, Asec. Uson was questioning if what happened next if the late Senator died for the country.

She also pointed out that three decades after the death of Ninoy, the Philippines is still not progressing.

The PCOO Asec. also said that the worst thing about what happened is that it is the members of the Aquino family who are destroying the name of Ninoy Aquino.

Pinagmamalaki ni Sen. Bam Aquino na idol nya daw ang tiyuhin nyang national hero na si Ninoy Aquino. Karapatan nya ito, at ito’y ginagalang natin. Pero sana naman hindi ito magtapos sa pagco-cosplay. Ang mga ordinaryong Pilipino ang sasagot sa tanong na ito. At ang mas masakit pa, yung asawa, anak – at ngayon ang pamangkin naman – ang sumira sa pagtingin ng mga tao kay Ninoy Aquino.

No one has the right to claim that someone is a super hero. It may be a shocking revelation for some who thought that Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, etc., are national heroes.

In fact, there is no law that proclaims a national hero and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) Research, Publication and Heraldry Division confirms it.
