New Bilibid Prison Convicts Are Now Allowed To Testify Against De Lima

New Bilibid Prison convicts are now allowed to testify against Senator Leila De Lima as Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez granted their request.

The convicts of NBP will testify against De Lima to have immunity from in connection with their testimony. On Tuesday (September 20, 2016) the trading of drugs at the national penitentiary was discussed during House of Representatives justice committee’s inquiry.

The convicted lawyers asked for immunity from suit for their clients as their testimonies, according to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre.

“They were not asking anything, and we weren’t promising them anything. Their lawyers approached this representation if it’s possible their clients be offered immunity… I agree that it’s very reasonable,” said by Aguirre quoted by Inquirer.
