Duterte said that he will not going to consider any suppression of helpless people despite of any participation of illegal activities.
Manila, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte stressed that he is not considering suppressing helpless people despite of any participation of illegal activities. “It is true that there could be annihilation… (On case) where the victims hands were tied behind their backs,” but Duterte claimed that he does not do such kind of thing. He cited that he will not accept any excuse if the victims were slain after their hands was raised to surrender. The president was seen to be encouraging of annihilating any lawbreakers by authorities regardless of self-defense or the suspects are resisting to surrender.
In the statement issued by the President, regarding to the call of the family to give justice for John dela Riarte, the motorcyclist who was slain by one of the member of police Highway Patrol Group (HPG) because of the traffic incident in the Makati City last Friday, Duterte explain the Dela Riarte resisted arrest. The two officer of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) together with the two couple who got into trouble in traffic with Dela Riarte was summoned by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
According to GMA news, the family is claiming that Dela Riarte was carrying a big amount of money but there were only a couple of hundred peso bill was turned over. The family of Dela Riarte said that they have evidence and witness that can prove that the victim was carrying 33,000 pesos. But the identified police officer as Police officer 3 Jeremiah de Villa and Police Officer 2 Jonjie Manon-og denied that there was not any amount of money except of those couple of hundred peso bill that was being turned over to the family.
The two MMDA officer Bayani Batac III and Jeslie Manlangit also said that Dela Riarte were carrying a lot of money when they are trying to calm him down. They said that Dela Riarte after his rage of resisting to be arrested was calmly enter the police car.
