President Duterte Approved The P2 –B Modern Hospital For Bohol’s Indigent Patients
President Rodrigo Duterte approved the P2.2 billion budget for the modernization program of Hospitals for indigent patients in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) modernization program have been already approved by the president with a budget of P2.2 billion. Project with a total budget of P171 billion along with eight projects endorsed by Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee (ICC-CabCom) and National Economic and Development Authority (Neda).
In October 2013, a strong earthquake with a 7.2 magnitude struck Bohol that causes damage on the area and hospitals including GCGMH. The hospital has an average of 303 patients who seeks confinement every day but only 56 percent of them are admitted, according to the hospital chief, Dr. Jose Teofilo Arcay.
Hospital patients increase to 142 percent from 95, 095 to 103, 667, in 2014 to 2015. The hospital currently has 760 personnel according to the head of the provincial government’s human resource management office, Catalina Erano.
