The southwest monsoon, locally known as “Habagat,” continues to affect the western section of Luzon, bringing scattered rains and thunderstorms to the Ilocos Region, Benguet, and Zambales. Residents in these areas should be alert for possible flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous regions.

In Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, including the Cordillera Administrative Region, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected. These conditions, influenced by the southwest monsoon, could still lead to flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms. While these areas are not directly affected by the southwest monsoon, severe thunderstorms can still result in flash floods or landslides.

Pagasa advises the public to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and advisories, particularly those in areas prone to heavy rainfall and flooding. Fishermen and small seacraft operators should exercise caution when venturing out to sea due to the moderate coastal water conditions.

The southwest monsoon is expected to persist, and its impacts on the weather patterns across the country will continue to be monitored. Pagasa will provide updates as needed to ensure the safety and preparedness of the public.
