As of 3:00 AM today, Tropical Storm Shanshan (international designation 2410) was located approximately 2,140 kilometers east of Central Luzon, with coordinates at 16.7°N, 142.2°E. Shanshan is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near its center, with gusts reaching up to 80 km/h. The storm is moving west-southwestward at a speed of 10 km/h. Although the storm is still far from the Philippines, Pagasa continues to monitor its movement closely.

Forecast Weather Conditions

  • Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region: These areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. The prevailing weather conditions are due to the influence of the easterlies. Residents are advised to be cautious of possible flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.
  • Metro Manila and the Rest of the Country: Similar weather conditions are expected, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These conditions are attributed to localized thunderstorms, which may also bring the risk of flash floods or landslides during severe episodes.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

  • Luzon: Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the north to northeast. Coastal waters are expected to be slightly moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.
  • Visayas and Mindanao: Light to moderate winds from the east to northeast will prevail, with coastal waters also expected to be slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
