Monitoring Low-Pressure Area (LPA)
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) is closely monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) near Mindanao. As of 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, the LPA was located 1,255 kilometers east of southeastern Mindanao.
During Pagasa’s climate forum on Wednesday, weather specialist Loreidin Dela Cruz-Galicia reported that this LPA, currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), may influence the weather in the coming days. If the LPA enters the PAR, it will be named “Aghon.”
Given the current weather situation, the public is advised to stay updated with Pagasa’s latest bulletins and advisories. Those living in areas susceptible to flooding or landslides should prepare accordingly and follow local authorities’ guidelines and safety measures. For mariners, caution is advised due to the slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
Stay safe and informed as we navigate through these weather conditions. For more detailed and updated information, visit Pagasa’s official website or follow their social media channels.
