Pacquiao Revealed That Philippines’ Drug Problem Is Beyond People’s Imagination
Senator Manny Pacquiao defends President Duterte’s anti-drug campaign by saying that the Philippines’ drug problem is ‘beyond imagination’.
On Saturday (November 26, 2016), the Filipino boxing superstar is a high-profile supporter of the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte. Since Duterte takes over the country’s highest position in June 2016, his war on drugs amid Extrajudicial Killings (EJK) took the lives of more than 3, 700 people in the country.
“The problem in our country is beyond our expectation, beyond our imagination that these illegal drugs in our country are really bad,” said by Pacquiao at a press conference held by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Japan quoted by GMA.
Manny defends the criticism of Duterte’s war on drugs for the alleged increasing cases of EJK incidents in the country. He also mentioned that a lot of the elected government officials were involved in the illegal drugs.
