PNP Pushes Ordinance Against Karaoke To Promote Peace & Quiet
PNP PUSHES ORDINANCE AGAINST KARAOKE – One of the many things Filipinos are known for is their love for Karaoke.
Usually, having a Karaoke session means a family would be having a celebration, a party, or just any other reason to bust out vocal cords. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, several things have changed in the Philippines, among them are policies regarding karaoke.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of workers were forced to work remotely from home. But, among the complaints of these workers was noise pollution in their area leading to loss of concentration during important working hours. Along with this, students have also been forced to study from home due to the virus.
As such, the Philippine National Police pushed for an ordinance against activities that could contribute to noise pollution such as Karaoke singing. PNP chief Gen. Camilo Cascolan said the PNP would coordinate with local officials in maintaining peace and quiet.
We will be asking the barangay to have a resolution regarding the use of this noisy equipment. Barangay ordinances will be in place and we will coordinate with them…
Everything will be coordinated with police stations. Kung may problema na malalaki, diyan sila tatawag. They will have direct contact with operational units in the area
