PNP Suggested To Bring Flashlight And Lamp In The Day Of Halalan For Power Outage
Philippine National Police or PNP spreads an emergency measures if ever there will be a power outages while conducting the election and while counting the votes for the Halalan on May 9.
According to balita.net, PNP chief Director General Ricardo Marquez said that bringing the flashlight and lamp is the simplest strategy to the voters and the Board of Election to do for protecting the whole day of election.
“The instruction is they should carry with them flashlights and high-pressure lamps and that our personnel should be on the precincts at least a day before the elections,” said Marquez.
Marquez clarifies that this kind of strategy is for the purpose of protecting the voters and election personnel. He also added that they have the separate strategy for the power outage. This is because the 2016 elections, like the previous two elections is dependent on electricity via automated polling machines.
Marquez said, Joint Interagency Task Force in Mindanao was founded to assure the security of tower lines and other facilities of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines or NGCP.
“There was no specific threat at the moment but we are providing security in the facilities. There are other issues that impacts on the tower lines,” said Marquez.
He added that the threat and the bombing of the tower of NGCP has no connection in terrorism however, this is related to the issue of not paying the right of way for the construction of tower.
