This matter was answered by Dela Rosa with a bit of uncertainty as of this time.

According to the article published in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Bato said that running for the provincial office is one of the options that he and President Rodrigo Duterte are discussing.

“Nabanggit kasi niya (President Duterte) na gobernador ng Davao del Sur sa aming probinsya, nasabi niya sa akin doon ka na para marami ka pang matulungan doon na mahihirap sa probinsiya mo,” the PNP Chief said who is a native in Brgy. Bato, Sta Cruz, Davao del Sur.

On the other hand, he clarified that it is not yet a final thing because he said that the option that he will run for Senator is still open as long as it conforms to what the President advises him to do.

In addition, Bato Dela Rosa strongly iterated that the only thing that will push him to run for Senate or as a Governor is the word from President Duterte.

Meanwhile, as it is still undetermined if he will enter the politics on the next elections, the outgoing PNP Chief said that after retiring he and his family will spend time together first in a vacation.

That is before he will assume the position as the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) head based on the article.

Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa retired as PNP Chief last January 21, 2018 but his term was extended by the President until April 24, 2018.

He will be replaced by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief P/Director Oscar Albayalde.
