READ: President Rodrigo Duterte Is On A Mission In China

Here is the itinerary of the trip of President Rodrigo Duterte to China and his mission to be done in the country which is considered to be an Asian Giant.

President Rodrigo Duterte is set to fly to China on the afternoon of April 9, Monday to do a mission there.

He will attend the regional economic forum the following day of his arrival in the said country.

The Boao Forum for Asia,also known as Summer Davos, which will be attended by Duterte, is as “international dialogue of government and business leaders aimed at tackling cooperation, innovations, and solutions towards “a more open and prosperous Asia,” based on the article published in Manila Bulletin.

Aside from that, the Philippine President is also expected to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Manuel Teehankee said in a recent press conference that Duterte strongly aims to eradicate poverty in the country.

Teehankee added that is a “common theme of the President whether it is in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation), the World Economic Forum or the BFA.”

In addition, the DFA Usec. iterated that “parallel and complementary to his own vision of a developed Philippines and a more prosperous Filipino nation as well as a more prosperous ASEAN economic region.”

After BFA, Pres. Duterte is set to talk with Pres. Xi to discuss the further enhancement of bilateral ties between China and Philippines.

“The two leaders will also discuss ways to collaborate on jointly addressing pressing issues as well as common threats such as violent extremism and terrorism and cross-border traffic of illegal narcotics,” the Foreign Affairs Usec. stated.

It was also said that the Chief Executive of the Philippines will travel to Hong Kong after his mission in China.

He will have a meeting with the Filipino community on Thursday night at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal.

Before his expected return to the Philippines on April 12, Duterte is set to meet with his “kababayans” in Hong Kong to personally know their situation there, based on the article.
