Rodrigo Duerte leads the latest Pulse Asia Survey, following his controversial remark.
PDP-Laban standard-bearer Rodrigo Duterte and senator Bongbong Morcos are still on top of the by Pulse Asia Survey commissioned by ABS-CBN. The presidential pre-election poll was conducted from April 19-24.
The survey has a margin error of plus-minus 1.5% and was participated by 4,000 respondents who are registered voters.
The Pulse Asia survey results showed that 33 percent picked the tough-talking Davao City Mayor. He was followed by Senator Grace Poe and Liberal Party bet Mar Roxas who were statistically tied in second place with 20 percent and 20 percent, respectively.
Vice President Jejomar Binay placed third with 18 percent. Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago is still at the bottom with only 2 percent.
The poll was carried amid the controversial remarks of Duterte about the Australian Missionary. However, the survey was conducted before the news about his bank accounts.
In the vice-presidential survey, Marcos leads again with 30 percent. He was followed by Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo who garnered 26 percent. Senator Chiz Escudero and Senator Allan Cayetano shared the third place with 18 percent and 15 percent, respectively.
3 percent picked Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, while 2 percent picked Senator Gringo Honasan.
Duterte’s running mate is Cayetano, while Poe is running with Escudero. Roxas is paired with Robredo and Binay’s running mate is Honasan. Trillanes runs as independent candidate, but considers Poe as his president.
This year’s national and local election will be held on May 9 as announced by the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
