Robredo Says PH Will Be Laughingstock If Marcos Wins

Leni Robredo said that the Philippines will become laughingstock of the world if Bonbong Marcos wins.

Camarines Sur representative and administration bet Leni Robredo said that the Philippines will become the laughingstock of the world if her rival Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. wins the vice presidential race. She also shared why Marcos should not be elected.

In an interview with ANC, Robredo said that the country country will not only become a laughingstock, but his position will also pave way for his family to return to Malacañang palace.

“Talagang naniniwala ako na if he will be elected to office, lalo na for something as high as the vice-presidency, parang laughingstock of the world tayo,” she said.

Robredo also believed that Marcoses should have been banned from public office because of wealth that was robbed from Filipinos and abuses made during the Martial Law, according to her.

Bongbong Marcos is the son of former president and dictator Ferdinand Marcos. He was ousted through EDSA people power revolution and was succeeded by President Noynoy Aquino’s mother, Corazon Cojuangco-Aquino.

Despite this, Robredo admitted that the Marcos might win the presidency after he consistently topped the surveys with her and Senator Chiz Escudero closely trailing.

In the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) Survey commissioned by Business World, Bongbong Marcos topped the pre-election poll again with 26 percent, Escudero placed second with 21 percent, followed Robredo with 19 percent.

Senator Alan Cayetano landed on the fourth with 13 percent, while Senator Antonio Trillanes and Senator Gringo Honasan are still on the bottom spot with only 5 percent.

Bongbong Marcos is running under the People’s Reform Party with his running mate Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
