Sen. Manny Pacquiao vows to perfect attendance in Senate
Perfect attendance is Pacquiao’s vow as he takes seat in the senate. In fact, this is one of the reasons that he declines in the Rio Olympic Games, he said. “Kung makaya nating i-perfect, bakit hindi?” Pacquiao said in assurance of his commitment in the senate.
The boxing champ said that he felt the excitement as he starts his job as a senator and it would be disappointing to the people who elected him to seat in the senate, seeing him absent during his first month in office if he decided to accept the offer to play in the Olympics.
It can be recalled that Pacquiao has been criticized because of his absence as Sarangani representative. Also, on issues of doing his job of passing bills in the house.
While he expressed his utmost support for the next president, the eight-division world champion said that he is interested in heading the sports committee. He laid his plans and priorities saying that he will be pushing bills that will benefit the poor. He mentioned including the possible bill he will work on, giving free education from elementary to college.
In preparation to his new designation, Pacquiao enrolled at the Development Academy of the Philippines with a short course on legislation and governance.
Though the boxing champ said he is enjoying his retirement in boxing, he can’t say yet if another fight is possible because he said, his focus is currently on his work
