The Reason Why PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa Cried On Live TV
PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa cries – The new Chie of the Philippine National Police, Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa recently showed his soft side as he cried on live TV.
The tough-looking PNP Chief Bato Dela Rosa had a one-on-one interview with TV host Boy Abunda on his show called “The Bottomline”, aired last July 10.
As Abunda started reading a letter which Dela Rosa posted on Facebook, while in his uniform, PNP Chief Bato started crying and it seemed unstoppable.
The said letter, according to Inquirer, was a Father’s Day Letter dedicate Dela Rosa to his “Papa Doro”. The report said that he posted the letter a few days before taking the oath of becoming the Chief of the 160,000-strong Philippine National Police.
The PNP Chief then said he is not afraid to see him emotional as he believes that “brave men do cry.” He then explained that bravery comes from the heart.
Dela Rosa’s letter posted on Facebook goes this way:
“Dear Papa Doro,
I know deep in my heart that you’re now the proudest father knowing that your son, whom you could hardly send to school due to your meager income as a tricycle driver is set to become the chief of the PNP.
I didn’t know where did I get the courage to defeat my fierce enemies and the strength to face insurmountable challenges and then I realized, I am your son.
The son of a small but terrible father who never ran away from a fight, especially from the fight against hunger, lack of education, emptiness and poverty. I’m so proud of you, Pa. You fought a very good fight and emerged victorious.
How I wish you’re still here to coach and cheer me in my three to six months fight against drugs and criminality. I’m nervous, Pa. So please pray for me and the PNP. I may win or I may lose. But I sincerely dedicate this fight to you. I miss you, Pa. Happy Father’s Day.”
PNP Chief Dela Rosa has been appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte to lead the police force and do the task of eradicating crime and drugs in the Philippines within three to six months as what President Duterte has promised during his campaign.
