Rody Duterte promised to protect woman if elected as the next president.
Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Rody Duterte has apologized over his controversial statement about the Australian Missionary who was violated by prisoners in Davao City. He also promised to protect women if elected as the next president of the country.
In a statement sent to media and Inquirer, the PDP-Laban bet said that he has intention of disrespecting woman or people who have been victims of the same incident.

“I apologize to the Filipino people for my recent remarks in a rally. There was no intention of disrespecting our women and those who have been victims of this horrible crime. Sometimes my mouth can get the better of me,” he was quoted saying.
Duterte was criticized for his remarks regarding the Australian woman named Jaqueline Hamill who lost her life through a sensitive and violent incident which happened in 1989.
While he has already apologized, Duterte insisted that he will not apologize for the things he have done for the Filipino people.
Furthermore, Duterte said that he understands and knows the suffering of victims as he has witnessed it for numerous times. This is also the reason why he say such words because he is angry about the incident.
If elected in the upcoming elections, Duterte vowed that he will protect women, children, and families, saying that the government has failed to do it. He added that he will protect them even if he loses his life, honor and the presidency.
He will see to it that all criminals will suffer the consiquences of their crime as he promise us the people of the phil.
