Preparations of a disaster-prone area in the Philippines because our country is one of the most disaster-prone countries in the world to improve risk managements.
The Philippines were made up of hundreds of islands and this country is one of the most vulnerable countries in the world. An average of over 20 typhoons per year is expected to experience the country including volcanic eruptions, earthquake, and more calamities.
Disaster is a scary thought for everyone but it’s not just a thought but it’ a fact and reality that everyone must face. Climate change, weather change, and etc. the world will face more disasters in the future and it’s difficult but not hopeless, for being prepared.
In Barangay Carcaran, Albay, Dennis Daz a volunteer at Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (BDRRMC) said that the sea shore in their place was slowly consumed by the sea for the last few years.
Also in Albay in Barangay Mananao, typhoon Glenda destroyed several houses in the place because during storms the waves are reaching their homes because of climate change. So residents that were affected by the incidents are seeking for a safe place to evacuate.
