The incoming President of the Republic of the Philippines is set to fly to Manila on Wednesday, a day before his inauguration as confirmed by his closest aide Christopher “Bong” Go in an interview with the media. The family of Pres. Duterte is already in Manila who arrived earlier than expected.
Pres. Rody Duterte will fly from Davao City anytime from 5:00 PM today to attend one of the most important event of his life as a public servant. The 71-year-old Mayor Duterte will be sworn in as the 16th President of the Philippines.
The first family of the former Davao City Mayor was already in Manila to attend the event. Duterte’s ex-wife Elizabeth Zimmerman, and daughters Paolo Duterte and Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio arrived in Manila on Tuesday on board Philippine Airlines flight from Davao City.
Based upon the schedules prepared by the Duterte camp, during the inauguration of Pres. Rody Duterte, her youngest daughter “Kitty” his only child with his common-law wife Honeylet Avancena will hold the Bible as he takes his oath. The said Bible was reportedly owned by Duterte’s mother Soledad.
The Duterte camp also noted that there are 627 invidivuals on the guest lists, which includes diplomats, incoming Cabinet members and Pres. Duterte’s family members.
The inauguration of President Duterte as President will be live stream on Facebook according to the confirmation revealed by incoming PCO Chief Martin Andanar. This will mark the first time that Facebook will live stream the event in any Asian leader.
After the oath taking celebration of Pres. Rodrigo “Roa” Duterte, a simple merienda (snacks) will be served to guests which includes monggo guisado in cups, lumpia, pandesal with kesong puti and beef longganisa. For desserts, durian tartlets and fried bananas would be on the table.
