Assistance For Typhoon Lawin Victims Provided By Private Groups
Donations and assistance were offered by private groups for the victims of super typhoon Lawin without government’s call for assistance.
Without a formal call from the government for donation and assistance, private groups lend their hand to help the victims of super typhoon Lawin. The typhoon devastated the Cagayan Valley region that causes various damage in the province.
Various private organization donated for the victims of Lawin to help the affected residents to restore their homes and to extend the releasing of relief goods and food packs by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is the humanitarian arm of United States government in the country as they pursue to send support for the affected areas of the typhoon.
“We continue to focus on our broad relationship with the Philippines, and work together in the many areas of mutual interest to improve the livelihoods of the Filipino people and uphold our shared democratic values,” Nagy said in an e-mail interview quoted by Inquirer.
