Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito Consider Quitting His Politics After His Term Ends
Due to alleged graft case, Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito considers quitting from his political career when his term ends.
The senator is currently facing trial for graft and malversation over the alleged anomalous purchase of P2.1 million worth of firearms as city mayor. JV is now serving his 90-day suspension, ordered by the Sandiganbayan and also due to his suspension, the senator considers his future in politics.
On Tuesday (November 22, 2016), after Ejercito’s trial for technical malversation before his anti-graft court’s sixth division, he said that his suspension serves as a vacation for him where he was given time to think about his political career.
JV believes that he did nothing wrong and he’s not guilty of the accusations thrown against him but he admitted that he has been affected by the cases filed against him. “It’s very hard to be accused of something you did not do. Mayroon akong oras ngayon makapag-isip kung gusto ko ba ito— ‘yung public service— because it’s really a thankless job,” said by Ejercito quoted by GMA.
