Smartmatic Tweaked The Script In Transparency Server Of PPRCV Only To Change The Characters In The Name Of Candidates
Commission on Elections Chairman Andres Bautista confirmed directly that the official of Smartmatic changed the “script” of the Transparency Server of Parish Pastoral Council for responsible voting last May 9 in the evening.
Nevertheless, Bautista clarified that there is only a minor change or slight changes and there’s no fraud occurred.
According to Bautista, Smartmatic official, Marlon Garcia only tweaked the script to change the character in the name of one of the candidates. Instead “ñ” it is “?” that was set in the surname of the candidate, Napeña so had to be replaced to rectify.
Bautista asserted that changing of the script cannot affect the result of transparency server. “Ang sabi sa akin, wala itong magiging epekto sa source code na ginagamit ng ating sistema,” he said.
According to the report of balita.net, Comelec assembled the Smartmatic regarding the issue and the company admits that they lack of quality control for changing the script without indicating the poll body.
Bautista also requested the Smartmatic to explain this issue especially in the camp of vice presidential candidate Sen. Bongbong Marcos whose fight against Liberal Party bet, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo is still ongoing.
