Devastating Storms and Floods Rages In Uruguay

Colonia Suiza, Uruguay, April 18, 2016:  Devastating floods and furious storms in Uruguay have caused severe damage. Seven people were reported to be found lifeless and driven almost 3,600 from their homes, according to reports in Uruguay.

Initial report according to authorities said last Sunday, they have found four lifeless victims when a storm rages they western city of Dolores last Friday, April 15, 2016, and three others were later found when trying to cross the flooded rivers.

It was then declared by President Tabare Vasquez that Sunday is a day of National Mourning.

President vowed during his interview that he is going to rebuild Dolores.
We are going to rebuild Dolores,” he said.

Numerous infrastructures were totally damaged in Dolores, according to some reports.

Later on Sunday, the National Emergency System raised the number of victims to forcedly abandon their properties after rivers overflowed their banks.

Reports said, almost 3,600 people had been forced to displace, up from over 2,000 it had given earlier.

The most damaged town was the Rosario which 130 kilometers west of the Capital Montevideo.

Rosario River was reported to overflow, causing damage to some nearby national highways that connects to Montevideo. To the tourist town, Sacramento de Colonia and to the capital of Argentine. Buenos Aires, according to AFP reporter.
