Teenager Fell From 50-Meter Cliff While Taking a Selfie in Nueva Vizcaya
A teenager luckily survived and was rescued after falling from a 50-meter cliff in Nueva Vizcaya while allegedly taking a selfie.
After falling into a 50-meter ravine while taking a picture at the Balete (Dalton) Pass National Shrine in Barangay Tactac, Santa, an 18-year-old male was rescued. The young man was identified as Mark Genesis Balagtas, a student, and native of San Jose City, Nueva Ecija, according to the article.
Balagtas was on his way to San Mateo, Isabela, on a passenger bus, according to Santa Fe Municipal Police Chief Lt. Jefferson Dalayap. However, I chose to snap a photo and a selfie at the Balete Pass National Shrine first.
He was just standing there shooting photos and selfies when he became dizzy and fell into the ravine, according to Dalayap. He stated they were on guard at the Dalton Pass crossing when a security guard requested assistance in rescuing Balagtas.
Because to the gorge’s steepness, recovering the victim was difficult. “However, it was eventually climbed safely from the fall using a rope,” Dalayap said. Allan Lazaro, a nurse with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), stated that Balagtas was only hurt.
Balagtas has flown to Nueva Ecija right away, where he was instructed to rest and recover. The young man is said to have run away from his home and intended to see his aunt in San Mateo, Isabela.
