Three Dead After Train Derails In Scotland After Heavy Downpour
TRAIN DERAILS IN SCOTLAND – Following a series of heavy rains, a passenger train derails along northeast Scotland.
Coming into late 2020, a series of unfortunate has occurred in the past few weeks alone. Earlier, there was the Beirut Blast, followed by the explosion of a volcano in Indonesia, and a gas station explosion in Russia.
This time, a passenger train got derailed due to heavy rains and a landslip in Aberdeen-shire, Scotland. Unfortunately, 3 people died during the tragic event.
According to an article from CNN, among those who died was the train driver himself, the conductor. However, authorities have yet to conduct formal identification but, the families had been informed.
Along with this, six people were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. Luckily, none was tagged as critical. Meanwhile, all people aboard the train were all accounted for.
As per the article, there was a month’s worth of rain in one day causing a massive landslip. In lieu of this, UK Transport Minister Grant Shapps stated:
“Obviously, there has been some very extreme weather and concerns about landslips; one of the things I’ve done today is convened emergency meetings in order to ensure that we look into that specifically along the line in other locations just to make certain“
Aside from this, the Queen also sent a message of condolence to the families affected by the tragic accident.
