CH netizens boycott Philippine Mango – As the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) gave its ruling in favor of the Philippines over China’s massive claims on the West Philippines Sea, Chinese netizens surge to boycott Philippine products such as the Philippine mango.
The Philippine mango is among the products being exported to China and other countries by the Philippines.
The said urge started using China’s social media platform called Weibo. There, the users are being urged to boycott the products from the Philippines like the delicious mango, which is considered among the best in the world.
In a report by BBC, netizens have made slogans like, “If you want to eat mango, buy Thailand’s” and “Starve the Filipinos to d3ath” can be seen on the microblogging site.
Another comment said, “If you love China, don’t buy Filipino imports”. “I will eat Guangxi dried mango, drink Yunnan coffee and eat durian from Hainan. Anyway the point is, I’m making sure my money stays in China,” said the other.
There are also topics that are now trending in the social media such as #SouthChinaSeaResult and #ChinaDoesn’tCareAboutYou circles the site.
According to BBC, vendors on Taobao, the largest e-shopping platform by China promised to boycott the Filipino mango snack. A Shanghai-based vendor even said that their online shop won’t sell Cebu mango from the Philippines and other snacks from the country.
But the Philippine social media also nailed the trending hashtag, #CHExit which means “China” and “Exit”.

China still stood to its refusal of the ruling of the PCA as for them, the decision is “illogical” and “void”.
