Ginebra to Introduce Scottie Thompson as Starting Point Guard

One of the most promising point guard in the Philippine Basketball Association, Scottie Thompson will be introduce by the country’s most popular basketball team, Barangay Ginebra as their starting point guard in the upcoming opening of the PBA Governor’s Cup 2016.

In an interview with the media, veteran head coach and current mentor of Ginebra, Coach Tim Cone compared his decision of putting his trust to Thompson as the starting point guard is comparable to his previous decision to start then rookie Johnny Abarrientos during the early days of the former PBA MVP.

He averaged 4.45 points, 2.45 assists, and 2.64 rebounds across 11 games in the Commissioner’s Cup but he only played an average of 15.55 minutes as he shared playing time with Tenorio, Helterbrand, and Sol Mercado.
