Stephen Curry is now expressing his eagerness to reach the NBA history of making the record-breaking 73 wins for a regular season. This is to break the infamous ’95-’96 Chicago Bulls record of 72-10 which the Golden State Warriors already tied after defeating the Spurs.
That also became the first-ever loss of the Spurs on their home court for the current season.
The Warriors got only one chance to break the record; by winning against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
According to a report on Inquirer, Stephen Curry said in a report that the Warriors really wanted to finish the regular season by defeating the Grizzlies and make a history again for them.
The MVP though emphasized that the team’s priority is to defend their NBA championship.
“We’ve put ourselves in a great position to do something no other team has ever done. It’s hard to step out of the locker room and understand the hoopla that comes with chasing the record. We want to go out and take advantage of an opportunity that may never come again,” said Curry as quoted in the article.
It really seems that they were really going for it.
Even the Warriors’ Head coach, Steve Kerr who also became part of the Bulls’ great era was overwhelmed by the fact that he already became part of those guys like Jordan, Rodman and Phil Jackson. And now, being a first-time coach leading the now NBA champions, Golden State Warriors together Steph Curry, Thompson, and the other guys.
Meanwhile, even former Bulls’ members desire that the Warriors could do it. They include Phil Jackson, Ron Harper, Scottie Pippen, and others.
Now, can the Golden State Warriors really get their 73rd win?
