Students Criticized Own University for Endorsing BBM-Sara of UniTeam
The University of Perpetual Help was criticized by its own students after endorsing the BBM-Sara tandem of the UniTeam.
After officially announcing the candidates they are supporting for the 2022 elections, the multi-campus institution has received criticism from its own students. The university announced its support for the president and vice president on their official pages.
The University of Perpetual Help has endorsed presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte, according to their Facebook page. It was backed by the university’s campuses in Bian, Las Pias, GMA, Calamba, Manila, Molino, Malasique, and Isabela.
Former and current students, on the other side, have been critical of the school. The students used the hashtags #UPHSLManindigan #PerpetualistaParaKayLeniKiko #IpanaloNa10ParaSaLahat to post one after the other.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University (FEU) recently said that its institution is apolitical and will not support any political candidates. The announcement came after the “Lady Tamaraws,” the university’s women’s volleyball team, expressed their support for the UniTeam.
The gang posted a photo of themselves wearing a shirt with the words BBM-Sara written on it. Netizens criticized the group when they expressed their support. Nonetheless, they received positive feedback and encouragement from their supporters.
