Pagasa Afternoon and Evening Weather Forecast

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has released its latest weather forecast, emphasizing the influence of the Northeast Monsoon and Easterlies across the country. A tropical storm, Man-Yi (formerly Pepito), was also reported outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Tropical Cyclone Update

As of 3:00 PM, Tropical Storm Man-Yi (2424) was located approximately 870 kilometers west of Extreme Northern Luzon, at 18.9°N, 113.2°E. It carries maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts of up to 105 km/h, moving westward at 15 km/h. While outside PAR, its movement and potential effects will continue to be monitored.

  • Weather: Cloudy skies with rains
  • Cause: Northeast Monsoon
  • Impacts: Moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides. Residents are advised to stay vigilant.

Babuyan Islands

  • Weather: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms
  • Cause: Shear Line
  • Impacts: The combination of moderate to heavy rains poses risks of flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying areas.

Caraga and Northern Mindanao

  • Weather: Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms
  • Cause: Easterlies
  • Impacts: Potential flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Davao Region

  • Weather: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
  • Cause: Easterlies
  • Impacts: Isolated thunderstorms could lead to flash floods or landslides during severe weather.

Metro Manila and the Rest of the Country

  • Weather: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
  • Cause: Localized thunderstorms
  • Impacts: While generally fair weather is expected, localized thunderstorms could result in temporary flooding in urban areas or landslides in mountainous regions.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

Extreme Northern Luzon

  • Wind: Strong to Gale, Northeast
  • Coastal Waters: Rough to Very Rough (wave heights of 2.8 to 4.5 meters)
  • Mariners are advised against sea travel.

Central and Northern Luzon

  • Wind: Moderate to Strong, Northeast
  • Coastal Waters: Moderate to Rough (1.5 to 3.1 meters)

Rest of the Country

  • Wind: Light to Moderate, Northeast
  • Coastal Waters: Slight to Moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters)

Small sea vessels are urged to exercise caution, particularly in regions experiencing moderate to rough seas.

Flood Advisories

Pagasa issued flood advisories for two regions:

  • Region 2 (Cagayan Valley): GFA #20
  • Region 13 (Caraga): GFA #2 (Final)
