The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued its afternoon weather bulletin, providing an update on the current weather conditions across the country. The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect Luzon, bringing varying weather patterns across the region. Additionally, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted at 3:00 PM today. The LPA was estimated to be located 830 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, specifically at coordinates 23.0°N, and 129.5°E.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Zambales and Bataan: These provinces will experience occasional rains due to the Southwest Monsoon. Residents are advised to prepare for possible flooding or landslides as moderate to heavy rains are expected to persist.
Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon: These areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the Southwest Monsoon. Localized heavy rains may lead to potential flooding or landslides, particularly in low-lying areas and places prone to landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon: These areas will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These weather conditions are attributed to the Southwest Monsoon. Residents should be cautious of potential flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The rest of the country: Areas outside Luzon, including the Visayas and Mindanao, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. As with other regions, flash floods and landslides remain a risk during intense storms.
Forecast Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
Luzon: Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the southwest to west. Coastal waters will remain slightly moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
Visayas and Mindanao: Similarly, these regions will experience light to moderate winds from the southwest, with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 1.5 meters). The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with localized thunderstorms possible.
