PAGASA Afternoon Weather Forecast for April 26, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its afternoon weather forecast on Saturday, April 26, 2025, highlighting the effects of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) over Mindanao and the easterlies influencing the rest of the country.

Pagasa Weather Update

According to PAGASA, Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. The agency warned of potential flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas that may experience moderate to, at times, heavy rainfall.

Similarly, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte are forecast to have cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rains and thunderstorms. These conditions are attributed to the prevailing easterlies. Residents are advised to remain cautious, as flash floods and landslides are possible in these areas due to the expected heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also brought about by the easterlies. While the weather is generally fair, PAGASA cautioned that severe thunderstorms could still trigger localized flooding or landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.

In terms of wind and sea conditions, light to moderate winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail across the entire archipelago. Coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.0 meters, making sea travel generally safe for small seacraft but still requiring vigilance against sudden weather changes.

Temperature readings for the past 24 hours showed a minimum temperature of 23.0°C recorded at 6:00 AM and a maximum temperature of 35.0°C logged at 1:00 PM. Relative humidity levels ranged from a high of 84% at 5:00 AM to a low of 42% at 2:00 PM.

Additionally, PAGASA issued General Flood Advisories (GFA) for four regions as of 6:00 PM today. These include Region 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula), Region 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN), Region 13 (CARAGA), and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), all under GFA#1. Residents in these regions are urged to stay alert and to coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices for updates and emergency instructions.
