Pagasa Afternoon Weather Forecast for November 2, 2024

Synopsis: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has announced that the easterlies are influencing the eastern sections of Luzon and the Visayas. This will affect the overall weather in several regions across the country.

Afternoon Weather Update

Forecast Weather Conditions:

  • Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas:
Residents in these areas can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These weather conditions are primarily caused by the easterlies, which bring warm and humid air from the Pacific Ocean. The forecast indicates a possibility of flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms. PAGASA urges residents in these regions to remain vigilant, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
  • Metro Manila and the rest of the country:
For Metro Manila and other regions, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are anticipated due to localized thunderstorms. While these weather disturbances are generally short-lived, they may still bring intense rain, possibly leading to flash floods or landslides in areas prone to such hazards.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions:

  • Extreme Northern Luzon:
Moderate winds from the east to northeast are expected, resulting in moderate coastal water conditions with wave heights ranging from 1.2 to 2.5 meters. Mariners and small fishing vessels should take precautions as moderate sea conditions may affect smaller crafts.
  • Rest of the Country:
Other parts of the country can expect light to moderate winds, blowing from the east to northeast. Coastal waters in these areas will range from slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 2.1 meters. While these conditions are generally safe, PAGASA advises boat operators to remain cautious.

No Low-Pressure Areas Monitored:

As of 4:00 PM, PAGASA has confirmed that no low-pressure areas (LPAs) are being monitored for potential tropical cyclone formation. However, residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather bulletins from DOST-PAGASA for any changes in weather conditions or unexpected developments.

Public Advisory:

PAGASA advises all residents, especially those in flood-prone and landslide-susceptible areas, to take the necessary precautions and to keep monitoring updates from official channels. With the easterlies and localized thunderstorms influencing the country, preparedness is key to ensuring safety during sudden severe weather.
