The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued its afternoon weather forecast on May 18, 2025, warning of potential heavy rainfall over parts of the country due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and easterlies.

Weather Systems in Effect
According to PAGASA, the ITCZ continues to affect Mindanao while easterlies prevail over the rest of the Philippines. These weather systems are expected to bring varying conditions across the archipelago.
Forecast Weather Conditions
Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall in these areas may lead to flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous regions.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily in the late afternoon or evening. These are attributed to the prevailing easterlies. Although generally fair, severe thunderstorms may still trigger localized flash floods or landslides.
Wind and Coastal Waters
For Luzon, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to southeast, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate (0.6 to 1.8 meters).
In the Visayas and Mindanao, expect light to moderate winds from the east to northeast, with coastal conditions similarly slight to moderate.
Temperature and Humidity Extremes
During the 24-hour observation period ending at 4:00 PM:
- Minimum Temperature: 26.0°C (recorded at 6:00 AM)
- Maximum Temperature: 33.8°C (recorded at 4:00 PM)
- Minimum Relative Humidity: 56% (at 1:00 PM)
- Maximum Relative Humidity: 85% (at 5:00 AM)
