Pagasa Afternoon Weather Forecast September 1, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued its afternoon weather forecast on Monday, September 1, 2025, reporting that a Low Pressure Area (LPA) has been spotted over the eastern seaboard of Northern Luzon while the southwest monsoon continues to affect large parts of the country.

Pagasa Weather Update

As of 3:00 PM, the LPA was estimated at 865 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, located at 17.3°N, 129.9°E. While it has yet to develop into a tropical depression, Pagasa warned that it is enhancing rain activity across Luzon and nearby areas.

Forecast Weather Conditions

Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, and Camarines Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA. Residents in these provinces are advised to prepare for possible flash floods and landslides caused by moderate to heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Visayas, MIMAROPA, the rest of Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and the Bicol Region can expect scattered rains and thunderstorms brought by the southwest monsoon. These areas are also at risk of flooding and landslides, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from localized weather systems. While generally fair, Pagasa noted that severe thunderstorms may still trigger sudden flash floods or landslides.

Wind and Sea Conditions

Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience slight to moderate winds from the south to southwest, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.
The eastern sections of Central and Northern Luzon will have light to moderate winds coming from the northeast to northwest, with waves of 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
The western sections of Central and Northern Luzon will experience light to moderate winds from the south to southeast, with seas at 0.6 to 1.2 meters.
The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast to southeast, also with slight to moderate seas.

Seasonal Outlook

Pagasa also reminded the public that up to 15 tropical cyclones may enter or develop within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between September 2025 and February 2026. This forecast was shared during the agency’s 187th Climate Outlook Forum on August 27, 2025. The next update will be released in the upcoming 188th forum scheduled for September 24.
