Pagasa Heat Index Forecast: High Temperatures Expected on March 24, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that two areas are expected to experience a high heat index of 39°C on Monday, March 24, 2025. In its updated 5 p.m. bulletin on Sunday, Pagasa highlighted that Coron in Palawan and Hinatuan in Surigao del Norte will likely experience this high heat index level.

The heat index falls under the “extreme caution” category, which ranges from 33°C to 41°C. Under these conditions, people may experience heat cramps and exhaustion. Prolonged exposure to the sun may also increase the risk of heat stroke.

Safety Measures Against Heat-Related Illnesses

To reduce the risk of heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses, the Department of Health (DOH) advised the public to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., when temperatures are at their highest. The DOH also recommended wearing loose, lightweight clothing to help keep the body cool during extreme heat conditions.

With the heat index expected to rise in several areas, Pagasa and the DOH continue to urge the public to take precautionary measures to stay safe and avoid heat-related health issues.
