The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its afternoon weather forecast for May 14, 2025, warning of scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms across several regions due to multiple weather systems affecting the country.

Frontal System Brings Rains to Northern Luzon
The frontal system is currently affecting Northern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms to the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon. PAGASA warned of potential flash floods and landslides in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rainfall.
ITCZ Influences Mindanao and Southern Leyte
In the south, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is influencing the weather over Mindanao and Southern Leyte. These areas are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, which may lead to flash floods or landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.
Easterlies Affect the Rest of the Country
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Although the rain is expected to be more isolated, PAGASA cautioned that severe thunderstorms could still result in localized flooding or landslides.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
Light to moderate winds are expected across the country. In Northern Luzon, winds will blow from the east to southeast, while the rest of the country will experience winds from the east to northeast. Coastal waters nationwide will be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.
Temperature and Humidity Extremes
Temperatures peaked at 33.1°C at 11:00 AM, while the lowest recorded was 24.9°C at 6:15 AM. Relative humidity ranged from a high of 94% at 5:00 AM to a low of 56% by 11:00 AM.
General Flood Advisories
PAGASA issued general flood advisories for several regions as of 6:00 PM. The Cordillera Administrative Region (GFA#3), Zamboanga Peninsula (GFA#1), Northern Mindanao (GFA#1), Davao Region (GFA#3), CARAGA (GFA#2), and BARMM (GFA#3) are all under watch for potential flooding due to persistent rains.

Residents in affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and heed local disaster risk reduction advisories.
