PAGASA Weather and Heat Index Forecast for April 10, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released its weather and heat index forecast for Thursday, April 10, 2025. The prevailing weather pattern across the country is currently influenced by easterlies and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), bringing a mix of hot and wet weather conditions.

Weather Forecast Overview

According to PAGASA, the ITCZ affects parts of Mindanao and the Visayas, resulting in cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental. The moderate to heavy rainfall may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, primarily due to easterlies. Severe thunderstorms may still cause localized flash floods or landslides, especially in flood-prone and mountainous areas.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

  • Northern and Central Luzon will have light to moderate winds coming from the east to southeast, with slight to moderate coastal waters (0.6 to 2.1 meters).
  • The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds from the east to northeast, also resulting in slight to moderate seas.

Danger-Level Heat Index in 17 Areas

Alongside the scattered rains, several parts of the country will also endure sweltering conditions. Based on PAGASA’s April 9, 5 p.m. bulletin, seventeen areas are expected to experience “danger-level” heat index values, ranging from 42°C to 43°C.

Areas with 43°C Heat Index:

  • Dagupan City, Pangasinan
  • Coron, Palawan
  • San Jose, Occidental Mindoro
  • Virac (Synop), Catanduanes

Areas with 42°C Heat Index:

  • ISU Echague, Isabela
  • Cubi Pt., Subic Bay, Olongapo City
  • San Ildefonso, Bulacan

In Metro Manila, NAIA in Pasay City could reach a heat index of 41°C, while Science Garden in Quezon City may hit 39°C—both under the “extreme caution” category.

Health and Safety Advisory

PAGASA warns that heat indices between 42°C and 51°C fall under the “danger” level, posing risks of heat cramps, exhaustion, and even heat stroke with prolonged exposure. Areas with 33°C to 41°C are under “extreme caution”, where heat-related illnesses are also likely.

The dry season officially began on March 26, and PAGASA has recently announced the end of the La Niña alert, with normal rainfall patterns expected to resume.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and remain alert for sudden weather changes, especially thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
