Pagasa Weather Forecast for April 21, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has released its weather forecast for Monday, April 21, 2025, indicating unsettled weather across parts of Mindanao due to the influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), while easterlies continue to affect the rest of the country.

Pagasa Weather Update

According to Pagasa, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over the Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. These weather conditions are attributed to the ITCZ, a known breeding ground for low-pressure systems. Pagasa warns of potential flash floods and landslides in these areas, especially during moderate to heavy rainfall episodes.

Elsewhere in Mindanao, including cities not covered by the scattered rains, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Although these areas may experience shorter periods of rain, localized thunderstorms can still bring sudden heavy downpours, prompting the risk of flooding and landslides.

In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, the weather will be generally fair with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon or evening. The easterlies cause these conditions, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, which bring moisture that can trigger thunderstorms. Pagasa advises the public to remain vigilant for possible flash floods or landslides during these localized weather disturbances.

Wind and coastal water conditions across the country are forecast to remain calm to moderate. In Northern Luzon, winds will blow from the southeast to northeast, while the rest of the country will experience winds coming from the east to northeast. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters.

Yesterday’s temperature extremes showed a minimum of 22.8°C at 6:00 AM and a maximum of 34.5°C at 1:00 PM. Humidity levels varied between a low of 50% in the afternoon and a high of 80% early in the morning.

Pagasa encourages the public to monitor updates and take necessary precautions, especially in rain-affected areas.
