PAGASA Weather Forecast for August 27, 2024

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather advisory for August 27, 2024, highlighting the effects of the Southwest Monsoon, locally known as “Habagat,” on various parts of the country.

Weather Today

Weather Conditions

MIMAROPA and Antique:
These areas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the continued influence of the Southwest Monsoon. Residents are advised to be vigilant as these weather conditions may lead to possible flash floods or landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous areas.

Metro Manila, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, and the Rest of Visayas:
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected. The Southwest Monsoon remains the primary cause of these weather patterns. Although the rains will be less frequent than in MIMAROPA and Antique, severe thunderstorms may still cause flash floods or landslides.

Rest of the Country:
Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms. The public is cautioned to stay alert, as severe thunderstorms may result in flash floods or landslides, especially in areas prone to such hazards.

Wind and Coastal Water Conditions

Northern Luzon:
Light to moderate winds will blow from the southwest to west, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate, reaching heights between 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

Rest of the Country:
Similar wind conditions will prevail, with winds coming from the southwest and coastal waters maintaining a slight to moderate range of 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

For the 24 hours ending at 8:00 PM on August 26, 2024, Metro Manila recorded a minimum temperature of 24.4°C at 6:00 AM and a maximum temperature of 32.2°C at 4:00 PM. Relative humidity ranged from a minimum of 67% at 2:00 PM to a maximum of 92% at 5:00 AM.

General Flood Advisories

PAGASA has also issued several general flood advisories for different regions. Notably, MIMAROPA (GFA#9) and Western Visayas (GFA#9) are under advisories due to the persistent effects of the Southwest Monsoon. Residents in these regions, along with those in other affected areas, are urged to take necessary precautions and stay updated with the latest weather advisories.

PAGASA continues to monitor the weather and urges the public to remain vigilant, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides.
