The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its official weather forecast for Monday, June 15, 2025, indicating widespread rain and thunderstorm activity over parts of Mindanao and the eastern Visayas region due to the continuing influence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

According to PAGASA, residents in Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Oriental can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. These weather disturbances are attributed to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), which continues to bring moisture-laden winds across the southern parts of the country. Moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall may lead to flash floods and landslides, especially in flood-prone and mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, the eastern section of Luzon, including Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, brought by prevailing easterlies. Residents are advised to remain vigilant as severe thunderstorms may still trigger localized flooding and landslides despite generally fair conditions.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with localized thunderstorms expected during the afternoon and evening hours. Although no major weather system is affecting these areas, sudden downpours may still result in flash floods, particularly in low-lying zones and areas with poor drainage systems.
Wind and Coastal Conditions
Winds across Luzon, Visayas, and the western section of Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to south, with coastal waters expected to be slight to moderate, ranging from 0.6 to 1.8 meters. In the rest of Mindanao, winds will also be light to moderate, coming from the southwest to south, and sea conditions will be similar.
No Tropical Cyclone Threat
As of 2:00 PM on June 15, 2025, PAGASA confirmed that no low-pressure areas are being monitored for potential tropical cyclone development in or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Flood Advisories
PAGASA also issued General Flood Advisories (GFA) for several regions:
- Region 6 (Western Visayas): GFA #1
- Region 8 (Eastern Visayas): GFA #1
- Region 10 (Northern Mindanao): GFA #5
- Region 11 (Davao Region): GFA #5
- Region 12 (SOCCSKSARGEN): GFA #5 Final
- Region 13 (Caraga): GFA #2
- BARMM: GFA #5
Residents in these areas are urged to monitor local advisories and take precautionary measures, especially those living near rivers, creeks, and mountainous terrain.
