Cloudy Skies and Thunderstorms in Eastern and Southern Regions
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued its latest weather bulletin on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, warning of scattered rains and thunderstorms across parts of the country due to the prevailing easterlies and a Low Pressure Area (LPA).

As of 3:00 AM, the LPA was located approximately 660 kilometers west-northwest of Coron, Palawan, or 455 kilometers north of Kalayaan, Palawan (Pag-asa Island), at coordinates 15.1°N, 115.0°E. Although it remains outside the Philippine landmass, its presence is being monitored for potential development.
According to PAGASA, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and the Davao Region will experience cloudy skies accompanied by scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, all caused by the easterlies—warm, moist winds coming from the Pacific Ocean. Residents in these areas are advised to remain alert for possible flash floods or landslides, especially in low-lying or mountainous regions, as moderate to at times heavy rainfall is expected.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Although conditions will generally be fair, severe thunderstorms could trigger localized flooding or landslides, especially in flood-prone areas.
Wind and sea conditions across the country are expected to be light to moderate. In Extreme Northern Luzon, winds will blow from the northwest to southwest, with slight to moderate coastal waters (0.6 to 1.5 meters). Luzon’s remaining areas will have southeast to southwest winds, also with slight to moderate seas. The rest of the country will experience easterly to southeasterly winds with sea conditions ranging from 0.6 to 1.0 meters.
Temperature readings from the previous day showed a minimum of 26.1°C at 8:00 PM and a peak of 34.9°C at 2:00 PM. Relative humidity ranged from a low of 53% at 3:00 PM to a high of 91% at 8:00 PM.
PAGASA reminds the public to stay updated through official channels and take necessary precautions against potential hazards caused by thunderstorms and heavy rains.
