Pagasa Weather Forecast: Rain and Overcast Skies in PH – July 14, 2025

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has forecast overcast skies and scattered rain showers for much of the country on Monday, July 14, 2025, due to the continued influence of the southwest monsoon, locally referred to as habagat.

Pagasa Weather Update

According to Pagasa’s morning bulletin, the southwest monsoon is currently affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao. Areas including Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Palawan will likely experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. The agency warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rainfall in these regions.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also caused by the southwest monsoon. Severe thunderstorms in localized areas may still trigger flash floods or landslides, Pagasa cautioned.

While there is currently no low-pressure area (LPA) inside or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Pagasa weather specialist Daniel Villamil noted the presence of cloud clusters over the eastern sections of the Visayas and Mindanao. These may potentially develop into an LPA, though further observation is required in the coming days.

Thunderstorm advisories have already been issued for parts of Central and Southern Luzon, particularly in Zambales, Bataan, and sections of Quezon province, as localized convective activity intensifies.

Pagasa has not issued any gale warnings, and all seaboards remain safe for sea travel. For coastal conditions, moderate winds from the southwest will prevail in Extreme Northern Luzon, with waves ranging from 1.2 to 1.8 meters. Elsewhere, light to moderate winds from the southwest to west are expected, with coastal waters ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 meters.

General Flood Advisories (GFA) remain in effect in several regions as of 6:00 a.m., including final advisories for CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Western Visayas. Initial advisories were issued for Northern Mindanao and the Davao Region.

Pagasa continues to monitor evolving weather patterns and advises the public to stay updated through official bulletins and advisories.
