The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has released the weather forecast for September 24, 2024, with Easterlies continuing to affect the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. This atmospheric system is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in several regions.
Weather Conditions
Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region
Residents in these areas can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the prevailing Easterlies. While the weather will generally be fair, Pagasa advises caution, as severe thunderstorms could result in flash floods or landslides in susceptible areas.
Metro Manila and the Rest of the Country
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. These weather conditions will be caused by localized thunderstorms, and like in the eastern regions, there is a risk of flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions
Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao
Winds over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be light to moderate, blowing from the east to northeast. Coastal waters in these areas will be slight to moderate, with wave heights ranging from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
Rest of Luzon
For the rest of Luzon, wind speeds will also be light to moderate, but the direction will be from the east to southeast. Coastal waters will have similar conditions, with waves measuring 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
Regional Forecasts
In addition to the national forecast, specific regions will experience the following conditions:
- Eastern Visayas: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Easterlies.
- The rest of Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan (including Kalayaan Islands) are partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Winds will be light to moderate, coming from the east to northeast, with light to moderate sea conditions.
