The Low-Pressure Area (LPA) was located 165 km West Northwest of Coron, Palawan, with coordinates 12.3°N, 118.7°E. This LPA is embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), affecting weather conditions across Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. In addition, a Tropical Depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was spotted at 2,540 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon, moving northward at 25 km/h. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gusts of up to 70 km/h.
Forecast Weather Conditions:
- Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, and Batangas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the combined effects of the LPA and the ITCZ. Residents in these areas should be alert for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rainfall.
- Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, mainly caused by easterlies. While rain will be minimal, there remains a risk of flash floods or landslides in the event of severe thunderstorms.
- Metro Manila and the rest of the country will generally experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Like other regions, flash floods or landslides are possible during severe thunderstorms.
Wind and Coastal Water Conditions:
- Northern and Central Luzon will experience light to moderate winds from the northeast, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
- The rest of Luzon will also see light to moderate winds from the northeast to east, with similar coastal water conditions.
- Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds coming from the south to southwest, with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate, with wave heights between 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
