The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has provided an update on the Low-Pressure Area (LPA) and a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
LPA Update
The LPA was last estimated at 715 km east of Itbayat, Batanes, with coordinates of 21.4°N, and 128.7°E. While the LPA currently remains outside PAR, its proximity to the northernmost parts of the country warrants close monitoring. This weather disturbance could bring potential impacts in the coming days, particularly in the Batanes area.
Tropical Depression Outside PAR
In addition to the LPA, Pagasa is also monitoring a tropical depression located 2,645 km east of Central Luzon. The tropical depression, as of 3:00 PM, is moving slowly eastward. It has maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. Though it is still outside PAR, its trajectory and development will be closely watched in the coming days, as it could affect weather conditions in the Philippines.
