The Palace denied reports that Pres. Duterte lost his consciousness yesterday.
The Malacañang Palace turned down reports that Pres. Rodrigo ‘Digong’ Duterte temporarily lost his consciousness yesterday during noon time.
Pres. Duterte was already in his 71 years of age when he ran for the post. Nevertheless, most of the citizenry saw it as not a hindrance in performing his duties if ever he wins. He gained the presidential post in a landslide victory.
However, old age has its own factors that it brings along with it undeniably. Like any other older people, there is a possibility that the President too might be hampered by health issues at times.
In a recent news report in Phil Star Global, it is stated that the 71-year-old President has acknowledged during the election campaign period that he is suffering from a slip disc, Barrett’s esophagus, and Buerger’s disease.
Furthermore, it is also stated that the 71-year-old President has been missing a lot of appointments earlier due to severe headache caused by migraine.
However, the Palace has also recently expressed the condition of the President and turned down all reports stating that he temporarily lost his consciousness yesterday during noon time.
Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar assured the people in a statement that Pres. Duterte can stand the demands of his position.
Andanar said, “We would like to assure our people that the President is in good physical and mental health. He is strong and agile and can stand the responsibilities and demands of the presidency.”
Furthermore, it is also stated that ‘pressing matters’ according to Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella were the reason of the cancellation of the appointment of the President with Bangladeshi officials.
Former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, the officers of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, and rebel leader Nur Misuari were also supposedly having an appointment with Pres. Duterte.
Today, one of the schedules of the President is the inauguration of the ‘Mega’ Drug Rehabilitation Facility in Nueva Ecija wherein he is the one who will inaugurate the new rehab center based on another report.
