The name Deniece Cornejo became controversial when Kapamilya comedian and host Vhong Navarro appeared before the public with his mauled face.
She was involved with the scandal as Vhong named her as the woman who invited him to her Bonifacio Global City condominium.
That was where the Kapamilya star said that he got beaten by six or seven men including the friend of Deniece, businessman Cedric Lee, based on a report published in PEP.

There were speculations before that she is a relative of GMA’s chairman and CEO Atty. Felipe Gozon but she clarified that it is Rod Cornejo, former top executive of GMA Network, who is her grandfather.
